Bookcase

This mission style bookcase was built for a client who works for a law firm in DC. He was looking for a set of office furniture which blended traditional design elements with some modern features. The bookcase is made from solid white oak and is built with a traditional mission construction featuring through tenon joinery for the shelf frame. The mortise and tenon doors feature handblown reproduction glass. The backboards of the bookcase are solid oak with a ship-lap construction. As with all my pieces, the size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.

• Solid white oak construction - utilizing wide boards for full grain patterns. • The dimensions are 72" high x 56" wide x 15" deep - other sizes available on request • Reproduction hinges, hardware and door catches • Mortise and tenon joinery for the doors and case - individual shelves are attached with sliding dovetail joints. • Handblown glass panels in the doors - individual panes. • This bookcase was finished with a hand rubbed oil and varnish - then buffed and waxed to a satiny sheen. • Other woods, styles and finishes are available
