Shaker Style Office Cabinet

This shaker style office cabinet was built for a client who works for a law firm in DC.  She was looking for a set of high quality office furniture which blended traditional design elements with some modern styling.  The cabinet is made from solid hard maple and is built with a traditional shaker construction featuring bracket feet and one piece crown molding.  The construction of the cabinet body is done with handcut dovetails and the shelves are attached to the sides of the piece with a very solid sliding dovetail joint.  The panels on the doors are bookmatched (i.e. sawn from a single piece of wood and opened like a book so that the grain structure is a mirror image about the center line).  The drawers feature handcut dovetail joints and solid wood bottoms.  As with all my pieces, the size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.
