Tractor Seat Stool

Several years ago I spent some time working on a design for a comfortable stool based on a tractor seat. After working out several prototype seats, I am now offering this stool in three different sizes - all available in different heights and woods. This stool features a hand carved sculpted seat that is based on an antique metal tractor seat. The stool is unbelievably comfortable to sit on and has a beautiful grain pattern in the deeply carved seat.   The legs of the stool are all hand turned from tiger maple and the box stretcher assembly provides a great deal of structural strength to the design.  The stool is finished with a natural hand rubbed varnish – waxed and buffed to a satiny sheen.

These pieces are examples of the type of work I do. Let me know what I can build for you.
The photo shows the family of stool sizes I have developed: child's (front), standard (left and right) and wide (center).
This photo shows a pair of regular sized stools with Cherry seats and Tiger Maple legs - at a typical 25" seat height for a 36" counter.
This photo shows my designs for a child's seat and a large size seat.
This stool was designed with a 31" seating height to compliment one of my standing desks - giving the customer the option of using the desk in a seated position as well.
