Two Drawer Chippendale Style Book Press

A pair of these curly cherry book presses were designed and built for a couple in Connecticut who were looking for two pieces to compliment their living room setting.  These pieces were designed and constructed in the Chippendale style based closely on several examples from the 1740's - 1750's.  This book press features four shelves behind the glass doors with a pair of deep, spacious drawers underneath. The glass doors and drawers lock with reproduction locks, and brass reproduction hardware is used throughout. The overall size of the cabinet can be customized to your space requirements and storage needs.  This cabinet works equally well as a dining room piece for china storage and display.  Additionally, the cabinet could easily be redesigned to accommodate entertainment equipment.      This cabinet could easily be built from Maple, Walnut, Mahogany or Cherry.
